Username vs display name

|---|---|---|
| Where it shows | In your profile link, pinterest.com/username | At the top of your profile and on your pins |
| Characters | Letters, numbers and underscores, no spaces | Any characters, spaces allowed |
| Tip | Short and easy to type | Add a keyword, like “Maya · Healthy Recipes” |
Each idea comes with a matching display name in the note under it.
What makes a good Pinterest username
- Short: easier to remember, type and fit on a business card.
- Easy to say: avoid odd spellings and long strings of numbers.
- Brand-ready: ideally the same name you use on Instagram, TikTok and your website.
- Lasting: avoid years and trends that will date it.
Tips
- Put your keyword in the display name, not only the username, since the display name shows in search results.
- Claim it everywhere. Once you pick a name, reserve it on your other social apps too.
- Style your profile. For a decorative display name, try the Pinterest font generator, and write your About section with the bio generator.
