How to use Pinterest trends
- Choose a country: the United States, the UK and Ireland, Canada, or Australia and New Zealand.
- Pick an interest, like Home decor or Food and drinks, or leave it on All interests.
- Choose what to show. Growing fast shows searches climbing quickest right now, Top this month and Top this year show the biggest searches, and Seasonal shows searches that return at the same time every year.
- Click Keywords next to any trend to find related keywords for it, or copy the list and download it as a CSV.
How to read the numbers
| Number | What it means |
|---|---|
| Week | Change in search volume compared with last week |
| Month | Change compared with last month |
| Year | Change compared with the same time last year |
| The line | Search interest over the past 12 months, so you can see when it peaks |
A big weekly jump means a trend is taking off right now. A steady yearly rise means a lasting shift in what people want. A line with one sharp peak is a seasonal search, and the peak shows when to have your pins ready.
How to use trends for your pins
- Publish before the peak. People save ideas weeks before they act on them. Pin seasonal content four to eight weeks before the line peaks.
- Match a trend to content you already have. An old post that fits a rising search is quick to refresh with a new pin.
- Use the exact words. Put the trending phrase in your pin title, description and board name.
- Find the related searches. Click Keywords to get the long-tail searches around a trend, then plan a fresh pin for each.
- Check your niche weekly. Filter by your interest and look for new rising searches once a week.
Where the data comes from
Trends come straight from Pinterest through its official API and update every day. Growth figures compare search volume over time, so they show momentum rather than exact search counts.
